DIY Household Cleaner Recipes

These are some of our families favorite recipes...

1. Household Cleaner with Vinegar

• 1 cup water
• 1 cup vinegar
•  6-10 drops Melaleuca (TeaTree)

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a glass spray bottle.  Spray onto surface and wipe with a clean cloth. Use to wash fruits/ veggies and toys.

**If you don't have time to make your own cleaner I would highly recommend the Thieves Fruit & Veggie Combo.

2. Disinfectant Household Cleaner

• 2 cup hydrogen peroxide
• 6-10 drops Thieves

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a glass spray bottle.  Use on counter tops, bathroom, toilet, door knobs, light switches or anywhere that needs a good cleaning.

**Again if you don't have time to make your own cleaner I would highly recommend the Thieves Household Cleaner.

3. Glass Cleaner

• 1/2 cup water
• 1/2 cup vinegar
• 1 cup alcohol 
•  6-10 drops Lemon Essential Oil

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a glass spray bottle.  Use on a clean cotton clothe or newspaper to clean glass, granite, or stove top.

4. Soft Scrub

• 1 cup baking soda
• 1/4 cup thieves dish soap
•  5 drops Lemon, Lavender, Purification or Thieves Oil
•  water

Directions:  Combine baking soda and thieves dish soap in a small bowl.  Add enough water to make a nice, smooth paste.  Use to clean tubs, toilet, and tile.

5. Grout Cleaner

• 1/4 cup baking soda
• enough water to make a paste
• 5-10 drops Lemon essential oil

Directions: Mix ingredients to make a paste.  Scrub mixture onto grout in a circular motion using a brush. Rinse and repeat as necessary.

6. Floor Cleaner

• 1 gallon water
• 2 tbsp thieves dish soap
• 4-6 drops Thieves, Purification, Lavender, or Melaleuca (Tea Tree)

Directions:  Combine all ingredients and use to clean floors.  Use damp mop, not saturated, as saturating floor with liquid may cause spotting or warping of the surface. Always do a test patch before using.

7. Carpet Deodorizer

• 1 cup baking soda
• 30-40 drops  Thieves, Purification, Lavender, or Melaleuca (Tea Tree)
• 12 oz Glass Cheese Shaker

Directions: Combine baking soda and essential oil.  Sprinkle on carpet and allow to sit for 30 minutes.  Vacuum.

8. Dishwasher Detergent

• 2 tbsp baking soda
• 2 tbsp borax
• 5-6 drops Thieves, or Purification

9. Laundry Cleaner

• 1/2 cup baking soda
• 1/2 cup borax
• 1/2 cup super soda wash
• 20 drops Lemon essential oil

**If you don't have time to make your own cleaner I would highly recommend the Thieves Laundry Detergent Combo.



10. Natural Bleach

• 3/4 cup hydrogen peroxide
• 1/4 cup lemon juice
• 10-15 drops Lemon essential oil
• ¾ cup  baking soda
• 7 cups water

11. Static Dryer Sheets

• Woolzie Balls
• 1-3 drops Purification, Lemon or Lavender essential oils

12. Homemade Toothpaste

• 2 Tbsp bentonite clay
• 2-4 Tbsp distilled water
• 5 drops liquid stevia (lemon, orange, peppermint flavored)
• 15-20 drops lemon, orange, peppermint essential oil
• tiny pinch of Real Salt

**If you don't have time to make your own toothpaste I would highly recommend any of these awesome Toothpastes.

These are pretty small recipes, so they are finished before there is time for them to go bad. The spray cleaners will stay good for a very long time. Many of these essential oils help preserve the mixtures and really make them smell good!
